In Shatin a new hospitality concept that embraces wellness and discovery





Surrounded by lush green mountains and located along the picturesque Shing Mun River in Shatin, yet only minutes away from city centre, is the perfect solution both for business travellers and families. 



ALVA HOTEL BY ROYAL is set to become an urban oasis. For a fresh, smart and dynamic hotel experience that includes a fine dining and wellness retreat for an healthy way of life.


This hospitality concept encompasses contemporary design, user-friendly technology and healthy living. Featuring 618 guestrooms including 70 apartments, ALVA offers guests a stay replete with relaxation and discovery, with views of Shatin’s cityscape, or the serene Shing Mun River and mountains as the backdrop. Drawing on inspirations from the energetic neighbourhood and the surrounding greenery, the architecture by renowned Japanese architectural firm Nikken Sekkei and interiors by acclaimed local interior designer Norman Chan, exude a sense of light luxury and comfort.

 

ALVA hotel has also therefore commissioned SmarTone to design a bespoke SmartHotel Solution for the hotel. Guests can check-in and obtain a digital room key on their mobile phones at the self-service smart kiosk and mirror their photographs and videos onto the in-room smart TV, etc.

A communal space Alva Works is available for guests to work and network. A fully equipped gym room and rooftop thermostatic swimming pool are designed especially for the fitness buffs. The hotel offers complimentary bicycle lending service and ALVA Discovery programmes for them to explore the city’s culturally and naturally rich sites with guided tours on foot or by bicycle. 




For dining, ALVA presents Alva House, an exceptional 270-feet long buffet table with multiple live cooking stations, presenting a selection of international delicacies by a multicultural team of chefs. Must try items include Freshly Shucked Oysters, Tomahawk Steak, Locally Farmed Giant Grouper Congee, Peking Duck and Mövenpick ice-cream.


The Chinese restaurant Yet Seen led Award-Winning Chef Quentin Leung who had garnered numerous culinary awards and previously helmed a Michelin star restaurant in Hong Kong. Presenting dishes that combine traditional Cantonese cooking techniques with innovative ideas, Yat Heen is the ideal venue for family and friends’ gatherings, or wedding and business banquets. Highlight dishes include Fried Rice with Black Truffle and Scallop, Wild Mushroom Clear Soup with Julienne Cut Tofu, Honey Barbecued Grass-fed Angus Beef, Suckling Pig Layered with Mullet Roe and Braised Fish Maw with Black Truffle Sauce. 





Located on the top floor of the hotel and blessed with panoramic views over the Shing Mun River and lush mountains, Mizutani is serving up authentic Japanese cuisine with a contemporary flair helmed by two Japanese culinary masters. In a sleek and stylish setting, Mizutani mesmerizes guests with an interactive dining experience at the Sushi bar and Robata grill counter, and a sensational experience at the cocktail bar. Chefs’ recommendations include Omakase Set, Live Unagi / Anago, Smokey Eel Kabayaki from Robata, Ox-tongue Burger, Tableside Jewelry Bowl with Salmon Roe, Kyushu Wagyu Beef and Homemade Plum Wine. 




A relaxing chill spot of Alva House, PitStop is designed for sports enthusiasts and cyclists. Guests can visit during the daytime at the al fresco area to enjoy healthy juices, wellbeing tea and fair-trade coffee with pastries and light meal; or cheers to the evening with beer and wine while watching a ball game on the big TV screen indoor.
