Chinese New Year Delights at Hoi King Heen

Chinese New Year of the Dog is round the corner. And Hoi King Heen Chinese restaurant (that offers an authentic dining experience, incorporating new ideas to provide a modern twist to Cantonese classics) welcomes the New Year hosting auspicious delicacies featuring premium ingredients, along with three different flavours of homemade Chinese New Year puddings.

Executive Chinese Chef Leung Fai Hung has a mission: satisfy diners’ cravings.
So, an impressive fish course is essential for every New Year meal as fish is a symbol of wealth and abundance for the upcoming year. Savour the tantalizing wok-fried lamb and mandarin fish fillet, where lamb fillet complements well with the mandarin fish and highlights the essence of freshness.  Dried oyster is another auspicious symbol for fortune and business success, therefore stewed dried oyster with shrimp paste and pork in which the sizable dried oysters and pork have made a nice complement with the rich and aromatic flavour of the shrimp paste, will definitely whet guests’ appetite.
Chef Leung has created shredded shrimp and abalone with assorted vegetables in “Lo Hei” style, serving with different texture of ingredients and yummy peanut sauce, with diners tossing the shredded ingredients at the table, traditionally considering as a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor.  (Available daily at Hoi King Heen till 28 February 2018)

Exquisite Chinese New Year Puddings
This year, award-winning master Chef Leung has innovatively created the red date with macadamia nut pudding using refined red dates from mainland China and macadamia nuts from Australia which are both praised for their nutrition values.  Such creative pudding lends a pleasant subtle sweetness with a hint of nutty flavour, while bringing a nicely balanced chewy and gelatinous texture, making it the spotlight in this Chinese New Year.
Assorted Chinese New Year puddings include:
  • Red date with macadamia nut pudding
  • Sweet potato and sugar cane pudding
  • Turnip pudding

Redemption period: from 1 to 15 February 2018.
