ICC celebrates 20 Anniversary Gala Dinner
More than 500 guests gathered on 3 November at the Grand Hyatt for the annual Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao Gala Dinner.
But this year the event was a tribute to an important anniversary as well. This year marked the Chambers 20th anniversary and guests included a number of VIPs and celebrities, among them Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam.
The event has been also the occasion for Mr. Antonello De Riu, Consul General of Italy in Hong Kong, to celebrate the third edition of the Festival “Bellissima Italia” an initiative, also supported by the Chamber, aimed at promoting Italian culture and lifestyle Hong Kong.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous six-course meal created by Chef Alessandro Cozzolino of Grissini, who will add a special Cantonese touch to the dishes in honour of the 20th anniversary of HKSAR. Dinner menu started with honey roasted pork on steamed pancake, chills, spring in bamboo basket followed by Mazzancolle alla caprese (warm mazzancolle prawns, fresh burrata cheese candied tomato, basil, anchovies, tarallo biscuit), Napolitan Risotto with sea bass marinara, crispy olives and capers. As main course Beef sirloin "alla brace" spicy potato bell peppers, baby spinach fine eras emulsion. Then, selection of Italian artisan farm cheese with fig jam. The dessert enjoyed the guest with a superb chocolate mousse espressos gelato, amaretti crumble and berries. Then, espressos coffee and a selection of Venchi chocolates.
The Gala Dinner has been accompanied by live performances, a silent auction and a lucky draw (with prizes including products from Giorgio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bulgari and Gucci), that will help raise funds for the beneficiary charity THE ONE International Humanitarian Award that every year seeks to find and honor unsung heroes who put others before themselves and dedicate their life to helping others in need.
