Exploring Wan Chau Island

It's not easy to go there, but for sure this is one of the most beautiful place to visit.

Ung Kong Islands, located in the southeast of Sai Kung comprises 4 major islands (Wang Chau, Basalt Island, Bluff Island and Town Island).

Wang Chau is the smallest and part of Hong Kong Unesco Global Geopark; there you can visit the Wang Chau Kok Cave which is located on the eastern part of the island

Close there is the Candle cave, 30 or 40 meters tall but only three meters wide. It is only around one meter in width. When you look back at the entrance from that point, the scene invokes image of a candle and thus the name.
Wang Chau belongs to the Hong Kong Global Geopark and itis part of the Early Cretaceous Kau Sai Chau Volcanic Group.

Hikers can enjoy geological sceneries from volcanic rock columns to sea caves.

To go there hire a boat at Sai Kung pier and sail around Jin Island (Tiu Chung Chau), Bluff Island, Basalt Island, Wang Chau and other islets. You can have a close look at the rugged primitive rock formations and spectacular rock cliffs that plunge deep into the sea.
