A new small animals adoption space opens in town

If you are thinking about a small animal adoption, you can consider a drop to a dedicated small animals adoption space in-store at WNP’s Ap Lei Chau location. This new space has benne opened by The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (“SPCA (HK)” or “the Society”) and Whiskers N Paws (“WNP”), the leading one-stop pet shop and animal welfare community.

Founded in 1921, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) is the region’s longest standing and Hong Kong’s largest independent animal welfare charity. WNP’s flagship retail is Hong Kong’s first pet supplies store combining a shop with dedicated in-store animal adoption spaces in collaboration with different charity organisations to rehome dogs, cats and small animals

Why this decision? As a creative solution to providing expanded adoption opportunities for small animals and promoting humane education in Hong Kong, the Society broadens the scope of adoption through a partnership that allows existing and potential pet owners to adopt small animals outside of the SPCA (HK) centres.

The small animals adoption space at WNP will offer a one-stop experience for families, couples or individuals to adopt small animals. All small animals from the SPCA receive proper veterinary care and treatments before living at the on-site adoption space at Whiskers N Paws. To spread greater awareness of the message “Adopt Don’t Shop” and to teach people how to take care of small animals, additional multimedia information provided by the SPCA (HK) will share with people the benefits of adoption as well as tips on the keeping of small animals.
